| Young Patrick Smash (Bruce Cook) is an outsider at school because in his own words he "cannot control my arse". Shunned by his fellow school chums for his propensity to emit noxious gases, he is befriended by child genius Alan A. Allen (Rupert Grint). Alan invents Patrick a pair of Thunderpants to control his stinky emissions and on discovering the possibilities of farts as a fuel source, they go on to win an air race in a contraption powered by Patrick's guffs. Further bizarre plot developments include Mr Smash going on tour with tenor Sir John Osgood (Simon Callow) and finally achieving his dream of becoming an astronaut by going into space on a rescue mission in a craft fuelled by... well, I'm sure you get the idea by now. Thunderpants is a delightful, wind assisted kids movie from the director of The Borrowers . |
